The Story Behind Libera

Libera was born from Carmela’s desire to create an inclusive place, where everyone can rediscover the true pleasure of good food.

Her story begins in Southern Italy where, as a child, food became a central part of her life.
Food meant family, celebration, and togetherness. It was a way to express love and emotions, and above all, a source of joy.

Guided by this passion, Carmela chose to turn her love for cooking into a profession.
After moving to Switzerland as a chef, she met the love of her life, who happens to be celiac. What could have been a limitation became a deeply personal challenge: to give back the pleasure of eating well. For Carmela, it was unthinkable that someone should feel excluded at the table or be unable to enjoy the same dishes as everyone else.

Over time, this challenge turned into a conscious choice. She specialized in gluten-free cuisine, learning how to recreate every dish with care, skill and creativity, without ever compromising on flavor.

Today, with the experience she has gained, Carmela is ready to share this journey with everyone.
Libera is more than a place to eat: It is a gesture of love, an invitation to sit at the table without fear or exclusion, and to rediscover the joy of truly free food.
